"So be a marble. Roll around and imagine where it’s easiest to go. See it. Feel it. Be it." … This is such a gift! I do this and it allows me to figure out stuff others walk away from. Thankyou!!

Hello. I once replaced an upright fin/tube hot water radiator with a cast iron baseboard radiator - which rarely gets heat. I did do the bleeding cycle, sometimes getting air and then some heat, but it didn't seem to last. It's been decades since I've returned to this, but I assume it still doesn't heat and I'm uncertain whether it's just an ongoing air / bleeding problem (e.g., the top of the baseboard is lower than every other radiator, of course) or something else. Is the answer obvious, there's too much pressure in the cast iron baseboard for the water / marble to flow? If so, could one simply use a larger pump for the system? Thank you.

nice article! I’m always looking for better visuals to help explain plumbing and Hydronics to my clients.
I was on a job recently with one of those giant tanks in the ceiling of the basement and puzzles over it because, yes indeed the pressure relief was popping. The client didn’t have a budget for getting rid of that dinosaur of a tank so I added a 5 gallon expansion tank that solved the issue.

Tank just needed to be drained and water level/air cushion reset and problem would have been solved.
