Boiler Power On Without Programmer?
Good morning. I have a Baxi Megaflow Condensing (gas) boiler. It's about 10 years old.
Recently the boiler is not powering on. I checked the current to the boiler, it is receiving 240V AC (I am in the UK), so not problems with the wiring. I have disconnected the programmer but I am surprised the boiler does not power on without the programmer connected, even though it is receiving a full current. Is this normal? I am replacing the programmer as well (because it does not power on either), but I just wanted to check whether there is also a fault with the boiler as well. I would expect if you give it a power it should power on with/without the programmer connected.
Thanks for your opinion.

Check the low voltage transformer for voltage , it should be fused ….

I'm not familiar with that particular boiler, but there must be a trouble shooting flow chart in the manual. If the service manual is seperate, you should be able to download it.
You say the boiler doesn't power on without the "programmer" connected, but what do you expect to be powered without it? If all commands go though the programmer, what can be powered? Are you talking about external zone panels, or relays or something?
