Another acquisition: ASC acquires Ward

Now they have a monopoly on domestic fittings (Anvil / Ward).
Looks like having a monopoly on only USA manufacturing is not enough to block it.

    I just hope it is or stays American made. China will own us soon enough. The scary part is where they say "nothing will change" which means everything will change.

    Wolverine Brass was acquired twice, most recently by Marcone, an appliance parts distributor.

    They are quickly ruining the company.

    Great acquisition by a very respected company. They have made many acquisitions in the past few years and have done a great job with each. They have always been committed to American made products and I have no doubts they will integrate this newest acquisition into their product offering quite well.

    Monopolies don't usually work out that way, but I like your optimism. 
    Trying to squeeze the best out of a Weil-McLain JB-5 running a 1912 1 pipe system.

    Here we are a year and a half later.

    Anvil has dismantled Ward and demolishing their foundries (BUYER FOUND). Ward will cease to exist.

    They have sent out a price increase letter today, which will increase the cost of the staple BCI fittings by a very significant amount.

    Sounds like a good business move to me.

    If you can't beat your competition……buy them and put them out of business and reap the rewards.

    Most Cast Iron fittings use is limited now with steam dwindling. Most supply houses don't even stock CI.

    Its just like anything else you buy when less of it is made and sold the price will rise.

    Plastic, pex, propress, megapress, poly,CSST all didn't exist much 50 years ago. As time goes on there will be less and less steel and CI and copper.
