Venting

Hello! I just installed a B&J  vent and a noticed another fitting that seems reserved for an additional vent which is plugged. It is located at the beginning of a return coming off a main. This is all original 60 year lod piping and I assume was put there for a reason? Thanks

    Definitely the original vent location, that's pretty typical.

    Agreed, however one is removed.  Does anyone know why it would have been And if it's necessary to reinstall one

    No idea why, but necessary, would be determined by measuring the main and calculating if the BM is sufficient.

    Can you post some pics of the boiler piping from the boiler to the return?
