    Hello @lowercanada,

It is not a mystery. Society has been shunning the trades for decades. So it is a surprise there is a lack of talent out there. Also it seems very few do Steam heating well. (I assume it is Steam heat, but who knows, the article did not directly say)

And just because a contractor does government contracts does not define excellence for a given task.

It's an economic  & American Cultural epidemic in my opinion.  "The Decline of the West" continues. (Spengler).  The big  losers in this are the youth who can be outsourced and replaced quite easily.  Plumbing, heating and electrical work will
Always be needed in every town, city & village.  You're not getting outsourced. HS grad gets in to a Union Apprentice...5 yrs...100k...no student loans...No Brainer....so you get dirty and work in the elements!  You can also wear workboots, Jeans, spit and cuss as much as you like and not get in trouble for it.  No corporate office etiquette and protocol here! (Although they ARE creeping on the edges).
Everyone doesn't need to be an IT guy or HR (Puffinstuff) or Lawyer....They are missing out on a great, independent, career....Sad...Mad 😠 Dog 🐕

Atleast they wanna work and will do ANYTHING like our immigrant ancestors.   Let's put em in boots!!!  They can earn citizenship though military service. I'd make it 10 yrs Minimum enlistment.   That would give them a long time to learn English Valuable trade or profession or stay the full 20.  Teach them Civics and American History and Pride and help them assimilate.   They need to be vetted carefully before and DURING service,  especially since we have (and Most Americans don't wanna hear it)  MS-13. Crips and bloods et al. In ALL branches....with the worst being The Army.  YES...even in the USMC.   Whether you want them here or not...like Stove-Top Stuffin,
They're stayin!!! Get used to it.  Let's dance 💃 with the dates that are here at the HS dance.  Mad Dog  🐕

Least we forget the mafia and many other organized crime groups of all nationalities back when our families immigrated. Prohibition ring a bell? Mobs or gangs not much difference really, just the products they deal in. Ever watch the series Boardwalk Empire.

80% or more of the work force out here in the west is from south or the border as well as the people growing your food in the US. I know the labor force in NY is the same, more nationalities involved.
Finish high school or finish concrete😳
Many of the fancy clubs and golf courses in Florida, all over, hire seasonal migrants, some illegally no doubt.

I agree to a point Hot 🔥 Rod. I have read long and extensively on organized crime, 1%  bikers,  gang bangers, and American Immigration and never, have I read where  The Irish Mob in NYC - The Westies or the Whitey Bolger -Boston Irish Mob or Mayor Richard Daly Irish thugs or La Cosa Nostra,  The Bund, or Even Russian Mafia or Albanians wantonly shot, hacked to death with machetes, stabbed and mutilated innocent children who simply didn't want to join the gang.   20 miles from where I sit is Brentwood, Suffolk County.  A HUGE contingent of MS-13 and the horrible, grisly murders of innocent girls and boys lured in to the woods to meet a horrific ending.   Thankfully, after this The Feds and whole law enforcement world crushed them...for now.  Less than 3 miles from here we got MS-13 gangs out in the open..  I see them all the time, sometimes on my pre-dawn bike rides through Hempstead.  They are not an innocuous protective society for their women and children.  They aren't out at 4am sweeping the sidewalks, and planting tulips on the median for the gentrification of Hempstead...6 miles away right next to my two Daughter's HS, MS-13 struck again...luring an innocent teenage boy who was just trying to stay away from them in to the woods to use their weapon of choice...The Machete....Painfully Hacked him to death and dumped him in the narrow strip of woods between the Meadowbrook Parkway and their HS.....less than 50 yards away from my daughters entrance!!  NYC has it all.  I've lived and worked amongst all the aforementioned gangs (sans the 1930s Long Island Bund Colony of Yaphank). my whole life...These gangs are the most vicious 😤 and threatening to the general innocent public than any other I have seen in my 55 years. Worst of all, they pray on their own.... Respectfully, Replying   peace ✌   Mad Dog

Looking at the near boiler piping in the I/O manual clearly illustrates how the pipes are to go together. Not the best illustration, but to someone that understands how a steam boiler is to be piped, it is clear. To someone that has no clue, the pipe sizing is not illustrated to scale and can be confusing.
Lennox could do a better job. That boiler is very close to the Crown boiler by Velocity. Those instructions actually state the pipe size and length.
What is wrong with the IO manual writers at Lennox?

...... What is wrong with the IO manual writers at Lennox?

They probably think they're wasting their time because no one (except those of us on The Wall) ever reads them. :s

BTW, that Lennox boiler is a re-branded Dunkirk.
