25c tax credit

Does anyone know if a heat pump or air conditioner needs to be energy star rated in order for the customer to qualify for a 25 c tax credit, which is part of the inflation reduction act? I know it has to have a minimum efficiency level, however I am finding that most stocked equipment does not have the energy star rating. Thanks to all.

the requirements are listed here, they link to a searchable directory as well, but it is not complete for the heat pumps. It just needs to meet the highest CEE tier for your region

the manufacturer or rep for the brand you install should be able to give you a list. mitsubishi gave us a list of all their 25c qualifying products. depends on what part of the country you are in also as to which condensers qualify.
