Water Detection/Shutoff Devices

Reference attached picture:

Mechanicals room with boiler is in attic. Water shut-off valve for house is in crawl space, 3 floors down.

If I am not home and either the DHW tank fails, or the Bosch boiler fails, it would be good to have some way to stop the water from continuously running until I return.

What are my alternatives for both recognizing there is a water leak, but more importantly to then shut off the water supply?

What do folks in the business recommend as the best product for a homeowner.

Quality of product is most important, followed by cost.
