Leaking convector

I have a customer with a leaking cast iron convector. Wondering if it would be feasible to remove the leaky section, reassemble and block off the void? It’s about 6 feet long and I think it has about seven sections. Would I need new push nipples? If so, where could I find some? Would it be better just to replace the whole convector.

You can replace the entire element with a steel or iron (or copper) one of a similar length. Governale and OCS makes them. It won't have the same heating characteristics as that iron thing but the new one will fit right in place and you won't have to pull that cabinet out of the wall.
