As I speed read the title, I thought I hear a cool train whistle. Oh well! But slightly on and off topic, velocity noise generation can occur in any system, be it refrigeration, water, even air, if pipe size and velocity of fluid is not factored into the engineering, on purpose or by accident. It is wise to know and consider the physics.

    Brilliant as usual!
I am not a Steam guy but asked to work on them here and there.
Your stories helped me solve some problems.
    Much appreciated!

A good Thanksgiving read . . . as we wait for the fierce winter to arrive and hope we make it through without problems with the heating.

Or the lowest bidder fails to balance the system the way it was specified.
