Have you confirmed that you have a call for heat? As in not just turning up the thermostat but testing at the TT terminals that you actually have a call for heat? Is there an open limit, or any other external safety device on the system that may block burner operation?

What type of boiler do you have? Peerless made many different boilers 40 years ago. If we limit it to the ones that have a standing pilot, there may be about 7 or 8 different models.

    1. Can you post a picture of the boiler rating plate or sticker that has the model number
    2. Can you post a picture of the heater from far enough back to see what the heater and the connecting pipes look like
    3. Does this boiler make steam for the radiators? OR
    4. Does this boiler make hot water that gets pumped through the radiators?
    5. Can you identify or take a picture of the FAN the is running?
    6. Does this fan stop running if you turn the thermostat as low as it can go? (so there is no call for heat)

If we're just randomly guessing without any information, this is about the right age for vent dampers.

    Hello @nikki2561,

An inexpensive Multi-meter may have been a faster, more economical solution to finding the defective device on your boiler. The random parts changing (Parts Cannon) technique rarely is the best way, as you are finding out the hard way.

Safety limit devices, Roll out switch, Spill switch, Power Vent safety devices.
    Pressuretrol switch, plugged pigtail.
    All could be an issue.

Also, now they need a tech that understands combustion to set up the new valve in addition to the original problem.

Everything has been checked with the meter..even tried jumping the furnace at the actual furnace and at the thermostat furnace just won't fire...this is also power vented

The tstat usually starts the fan first, then the fan has to tell the boiler that is is running.
This is most likely done with a pressure switch connected with small tubing.
When that switch closes it would send power to the gas valve.

This may or may not be your situation.

There may be a wiring diagram on the door of the boiler.
Can you post a picture of that is so?
Also a picture of the fan, boiler controls etc.
Back up a little with the camera.

If everything was checked with a meter you would know where the problem is, assuming it is actually an electrical issue. Assuming it is a 24 VAC system, if there is not 24 VAC at the Gas valve when the thermostat is calling for heat you have not checked everything. Or the person using the meter does not know what they should be doing. The electrical circuitry on a boiler that age is not very sophisticated. It should only take a few minutes (if that) to find an electrical defect.
