Buderus GB-142 getting lower gasket in

Hi, after cleaning a GB-142 with the recommended mineral oil/ water mix, the lower gasket wants to be anywhere but in the gasket groove.  Groove has corners, gasket doesn't.  I would greatly appreciate any tips on getting it to stay in place long enough to latch the lower cover!

- Maybe blue tape, slide it out before tightening the latches?  Won't stick.
- Make a thin metal clip or clamp?  Modified paper binder clip?
- Cardboard frame shape?
- Probably not a good idea to glue it, just feeling the urge, at this point...

    Got it to go together:
    - X-large office binder clip (wish I'd had more than one) to help keep the gasket in the groove, while stuffing other portions in.  It seemed to give it a bit of a temporary 'set'.
    - Got the back in place and latched, with the back and start of the sides portion of the gasket in the right place.  Some work to get the cover in the right spot forward and back.
    - Got the gasket in the rest of the way, and latched the front.
    - Feel around the whole perimeter, make sure it's not sticking out.
