 To be fair here basically all of the popular brands just went through something similar, this is also a voluntary recall. Lochinvar, Triangle Tube, Wiel Mclain, Viessmann, they all get their turn in the grinder0

 Sure here are a couple of links from the last few. All major brands have had recalls of this magnitude in the last decade or so, it is not uncommon and is not indicative of overall quality issues with a brand. This one shows 545 total units impacted, and it is a voluntary recall, for reference lochinvar's was over 30,000 units, Triangle Tubes was 60,000 and change. I sell Viessmann and Triangle tube boilers for full disclosure so I made sure to include mine in this as well.
