The fill valve probably has some junk build up underneath the seat. It may just need to be pulled apart and cleaned OR it may need to be replaced. I like the Fluidmaster 400 series. easy to work on.

@hot_rod is on to something. You might have a high-pressure issue that is causing the noise as you described.
If the toilet is old change the ball cock....ie the fill valve. It's probably a fluidmaster 400series.
    It's a relatively cheap fix.
If that doesn't work you more than likely have a pressure issue.

A description of the noise might help us narrow it down. If it is one of the better types of brass ballcocks it is probably worth rebuilding. It could be the flush valve leaking too.

80 psi is the max water pressure allowed by code. It is also the pressure rating in most plumbing fixtures, ballcocks and such.
Buy an indicator needle pressure gauge and install it on a hose bib for a week to see pressure and if you get any spikes.
Unless you are on a private well?

A leaking flapper can cause a refilling noise after a fill up as the tank water seeps thru the seal and into the bowl. Flappers deteriorate (deform) in chlorinated water after a time.

what type of noise? is it a trickling noise? i ask because you said it was after the toilet was filled. if you have a new ballcock you need to make sure you have the air gap fitting installed on the fill hose going into the overflow tube on the flush valve to prevent the water being siphoned from the ballcock. if the fill hose is below the tank level in the overflow tube it will siphon water from the ballcock. even thou the ballcocks are anti-siphon it still fails with improper installation
