I'm having a really hard time getting past him spending 5 minutes on those symbols that are the wrong way for a nazi swastika and weren't a symbol of hate until 1930's nazi germany at the beginning.

The shots of the radiators seemed to have some ad for some pbs series over them Looks like 2 pipe steam with steam traps, probably not as old as the building.

I'm wondering where the boiler is.

I feel like the entire internet needs to see a disclaimer about those tile floors. Every month or so a pic of one makes it to the front page of reddit. They go similarly bonkers over finding a "hidden room" (crawlspace) in a house they just bought.

As well traveled as this guy is supposed to be, I would think he would be aware of these pre-war symbols.

And he could have explained the difference between the two "rotations", rather than making this the main theme of his story.

I found these in the 1918 Schweser building that I posted about.
That owner said he does not let many people into the smaller room they are located in without explaining.

Back in 1990 there was an uproar because of swastika's laid in the floor tile of Hull's town hall. Hull is a small seaside community south of Boston. I can understand some being justifiably upset about the symbology considering it's use by Hitler but I think you have to look at it in the light of what that symbol meant when it was put in. I can tell you replacing that tile floor was something the town of Hull could ill afford.

A number of old heating texts, written in the 1920s and before, had swastikas on the binding.
    Retired and loving it.
