Changing a steam Radiator

I Have a single pipe steam system and currently have 2 freestanding radiators in my living room. I want to change to either, cast iron base board or recessed Sunrad in wall radiators. We are looking to save space and don't like the look of the existing radiators.

Is this a big deal and is steam baseboard a viable option.

    Options
    CI baseboard (BaseRay)really isn't set up for 1 pipe. If you have pipe access, recessed rads like https://usboiler.net/product/radiant-baseboard-radiator.html or OCI's version would be fine.

    You do have to kick up EDR to account for the recessing.
    Trying to squeeze the best out of a Weil-McLain JB-5 running a 1912 1 pipe system.

    I am not a fan of any type of baseboard for one pipe steam systems. This is due to the height and the problems I have seen in the past with spitting vents, inadequate pitch, etc. Yes cast iron is probably the best form of baseboard.

    That being said, I would strongly urge you to consider replacing the free standing radiators with recessed cast iron units like these, Burnham refers to them as "radiant." Yes they require some piping modifications and some carpentry.
