#2 Fuel Die

in Oil Heating
I am an Oil Heating Tech with over 25 years in the trade. Recently came another intermitted locked out oil burner, which of coarse push button will start right up. This it a newer system heat only, which I service yearly in the fall. Basically my question is how much die is added to the fuel. This nozzle was a brighter red than Adam's apple, and was only in service 5 months. Can too much die effect the burner operation? Replaced the nozzle, no problem.

It has nothing to do with dye.
IIRC back when we had to splash dye, about 6oz for 3000 gallons.steve0
