Local plumbing supply house. Do you really need it? If not I would consider leaving it alone or if required just using straight pipe and elimiate the valve.0

Would we say it is put in backwards?
It looks like the union/spud is on the bottom.
Would need access under the floor to change the spud??
Maybe just repack the bonnet around the stem.0 -
The homeowner would like the valve replaced because it won’t close anymore. Short of replacing it, I would have to attempt a rebuild. Being as I do not have access below, it might be my only option0

I do have one spot on the branch piping to the radiator to install a Straight valve there. I can then leave the existing valve in the open position and leave it0

be careful. Steam is 100% shutoff, hot water should have a bleed hole in the valve to prevent freezing.0
