Maine Energy Systems AutoPellet

I am interested in having my oil fired boiler replaced at some point in the next few years and was interested in switching to a wood pellet boiler, because I would like to use a more renewable heating fuel.

Has anyone had experience with the Maine Energy Systems AutoPellet boiler?

Is pellet availability an issue in Mid-Coast Maine?

I was looking around to see if I could find a pellet boiler that could use natural gas as a backup in case pellets were unavailable, but was unable to find anything. I searched for "dual/multi fuel pellet boilers", but all I could find were boilers that could burn pellets and wood.

My heating system is one pipe steam.

The boiler you mention appears to be a hot water boiler.  There is no mention of it being approved for steam on their website.

Do you have any bio-heat dealers in your area?  You may be able to switch to a more renewable fuel without buying any new equipment.

@Robert_25 Thanks for recommending that. There is a dealer in my area!
