    Take it to a metal scrap yard. they will usually take it. or a scrap metal dumpster at your town disposal site

    You could post it for scrap on craigslist....

    On Long Island, just put it to the curb and it'll be gone before you get back in the basement.

    Even post it on your towns FB page. Just post 'scrap alert' take a picture, put your address.

    Can’t swing a dead cat on trash night without hitting a scrapper in my neighborhood. As mentioned above. Put it on the curb and it will be gone in no time.
    We have a scrapper that I call when I have a significant amount. Called him and he and his wife showed up to carry the 6 sections and associated metal out of our basement.
    I’ll add there was no asbestos.
