Need help understanding Buderus flow setter valve adjustment

Q#1 I am installing Buderus panel radiators. Their website is not helpful. The flow setter adjustment nob has no stops so does that mean if I'm on setting 2 and continue to turn it 360 degrees it will go back to 2 again? Q#2 Is the plastic cap just a protective cover or does it need to be in place for proper function. Thank you

    Normally I leave it preset until special issues like daisy looping . The notch is fully open . Yes rotate it back The cap is left loose for a open valve , tighten in to close the plunger valve...

    Hey Big Ed, Thanks for getting back to me. Just for clarity , if I turn the adjustment nob lets say five or even ten revolutions it makes no difference as long as I set it to what ever number I need? It just seems like you could just keep turning it. I guess I just don't understand whats happening inside this valve.

    Hi flounder - I was just wondering if you ever got a clear answer on this question? We just bought a house and there is a Buderus panel radiator in one room that doesn’t seem to be putting out much heat at all. I can’t figure out how the flow setter valve should be set and I’m confused that it just keeps spinning around as you said. Appreciate any insight you can share!

    I found the flowsetter settings on the Burderus quite confusing. The normal function is plunger out is full flow, the ring turns 360 degrees, internally this position varies the flow range. I want full flow with the cover on, however doing so the cover pushes the plunger in. The manual states that N setting is full flow (plunger in or out?) An option is to forgo the whole cover or drill a hole in the cover's top so the plunger can't be pushed in while it's on. Burderus could use more documentation here.
