Swapped off Hoffman 75 to other main and added a second Gorton 2 on the longer main. Also added T off pigtail on boiler and low pressure gauge so I can make sure my pressure is staying down and main venting is adequate.

I would turn the safety valve away from the top of the boiler and install a drop leg toward the floor with a pail to catch any drips or release from the safety valve.

No black pipe on pressure relief valve outlet

Are you saying it's not allowed or that you don't see it?

Some inspectors don't like black pipe on safety valve drips, since it can rust up.

Also if there is a threaded end on that black pipe some one who does not know what they are doing will see a drip and think that a cap would be the perfect solution....

Years ago my dad was an expert witness for a case where a boiler exploded and destroyed an entire (thankfully unoccupied at the time) wing of a nursing home. They took him to the site and while walking around he actually found the relief valve with the discharge piping capped off. Upon questioning the maintenance guy said he saw it dripping on Friday afternoon and decided to just cap it off until he could replace it on Monday. As Steamhead always says.....
