Replaced Pump, now noisy and no heat flowing

I had a new system (Biasi and a Carlin) and one of the Taco 007 pumps failed and my installer came out and swapped it. Its finally cold enough to run heat and the line with the replacement pump is noisy and no heat is flowing. I'm thinking its air trapped in the system. My question is can I purge the air while the system is running (i.e., hot) or will adding in cold water from my well crack the boiler? The only valve I have is on a common return line for all of the zones. Also, while I was looking at the system I noticed that the ohms were about 1500- 1600. Someone said that is way too high.

    Options
    I would turn off the system and call your installer back to properly remove the air from your system. Only one valve on a common return may not be enough to properly purge the system.

    It sounds as though your system is zoned with pumps (vs. zone valves). Do you have radiators or radiant (in the floor) heating?
