    Still an atmospheric with only 82% AFUE. A Carlin EZ-Gas in a MegaSteam would do better...............

    I just took a look at the literature, it looks like they changed the design from the Independence where I think the problems of early rot out were born.... excessive casting temperatures above the water line because of the dense pinning of the heat exchanger. No more pins above the water line. With other makes there is probably so much splash above the water line that heat still transferred quite effectively through the upper part of the boiler, so the castings didn't get as hot and lasted longer. Looks like you can also do dual LWCO's.... another reason I stopped using the Burnham casting boilers.. they didn't meet code for anything but the smaller models.

    It sounds like they spent a lot of time listening to customers and developing a solution to the challenges facing modern steam boilers, especially when it comes to poor water quality.
