Hi all,

Has anyone used melamine foam pipe insulation on steam piping?

I have a pipe that goes between floors in my kitchen and I'm considering it with a pvc jacket just so it's a little cleaner and more durable than the typical Kraft paper fiberglass.

    I would use it. The specifications list the temperature range from -40° to +350°. A residential steam (or any low-pressure steam) boiler operates at below 220°F

    The melamine foam pipe insulation is amazing.

    It's very light and can easily be cut with scissors. The PVC jacket is glued to the foam.

    I'd highly recommend it for being used exposed in the living space.
