New water feeder installation

Jeff5136 Member Posts: 1
I had a contractor come in to install a water feeder. After he told me its not working he sent me a picture of how he installed it.

I asked him why he didn't just follow the manual. I'm suspecting that he open the bypass and it sent water pressure to the outlet of the feeder causing the mechanism to fail. What do you guys think? I would have done it myself but I'm not confident in electrical nor boilers.

Look at the arrow on the water feeder body.

It should be pointing to the left. It looks like it is but I can't see it clearly. Also it looks like the backflow preventer is downstream of the water feeder and bypass. It won't work right that way.

He needs to move the backflow up high on the upstream of the bypass and the feeder

Putting water pressure on the inlet and the outlet of the feeder at the same time shouldn't hurt it
