newbie issue

Options
Have a house with a broken feed line to the radiators. It's a tee in the middle of a run without access to the other ends! Figured I'd have to put in unions due to placing which means I'd have to thread the cut-off sides and use a hand held power threader or manual threading head. Is this the best way??? The pipe is 2" and this is the only solution short of getting access to the entire run.

Looking for experienced answer and guidance!!!

Big time THANKS!!!!

You may be able to break the tee off the piping. If it is a cast fitting it will break with a sledgehammer. If the fitting is galvanized or malleable iron then you will need a hack saw or metal blade on your reciprocating saw. Can you get to the branch at the radiator valve and start there? You will only need one union. If not then you will need 2 unions. Threading the 2" main will be the best way of getting the exact fit needed.

    Good luck and Merry Christmas
