Do vent dampers need constant 24 volts at all times?

Looks like it gets 15 seconds of 24v power on and power off. Shouldn't have any voltage once it's opened or closed. Are you having issues with the damper?0

I suspect they have voltage all the time and an end switch breaks the circuit when the vent is opened? Either that or the motor stalls like spring return zone valves do.
If it has 4 or 6 wires it is probably powered open and closed, two conductors for an additional switch. So power to the valve but not necessarily the motor?Bob "hot rod" Rohr
