Trane steam trap

Anyone recognize this radiator steam trap? Need cage units and no one can figure out what model Trane this is. There is no writing on the body of the trap.

There is something a bit odd-looking about that hex on that cap. Is it 7/8" like most Trane B-1s of that era? It looks like that little hex comes off?

I'll have to go pull the cap and take a look. Yes, that top cap comes off but I don't know why. No one can seem to identify it. Barnes & Jones says they are only guessing its a 4270 cage unit for a B1. Maybe if I open it and send them a picture of the existing cage we can confirm better.

As near as I can figure it, there are three B&J cage units for this (assumed) 1/2" Trane B-1 angle trap: #2854, a #4270, and a #4320. The latter two # need new B&J caps, BTW. Usually, when those little caps come off like that, there is a slotted adjustment screw underneath which changes the setting of the trap element response. That was somebody's good (read: patentable) idea that was quickly dropped as unnecessary or unworkable.
You seem to have come across yet another variant of the infamously variable Trane B-1.
