what are the pros and cons of putting sludge removing treatment in the oil tank?

Hello All!
I understand some of the benefits of putting sludge removing fluids in the oil tank. I was wondering if this would be best practice to add sludge remover once a year before the heating season.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks!

I would add it either at the end of the season if you fill your tank, or with the first fill of the season.
Either way you should add it while getting the delivery.
You should also decide on one brand only and use that. Don't mix products, or keep mixing products.

    thank you @STEVEusaPA !
I was considering Oatey 32 oz. Fuel oil sludge treatment and also add Power Flo Fuel Energizer 16 oz. Heating Oil Additive to improve efficiency before next fuel delivery ( I have 1/4 tank left, I had considered that I let the oil tank gauge indite almost empty) then put about 150 gallons) with both above mentioned products...
    thanks again!

Check the label for the right ratio's. Might not be recommended to do both with 150 gallons.
    I've always used this:

I would add it before fill ups back when I had oil. Did not have a problem before I started adding it though. It's kinda like elephant insurance. You buy a little gadget and but it in your pocket and that way you won't get attacked by a elephant.
