convectors and toe kicks

i know you shouldn't use a toe kick with cast iron radiators but will it work well with convector radiators

    I used a Beacon Morris toe kick heater in a kitchen while the rest of the system was cast iron baseboard and it worked very well. The whole system was hot water, reverse return, utilizing N/O zone valves in a 3 story farm house. Since this farm house was only occupied on week ends antifreeze was added for freeze protection.

    One important thing with toe kicks is that you must allow for air circulation or the heat from the coil or electric unit will stratify and no or not enough heat will enter the space.

    It depends. If you want low temperature return water for a condensing boiler, convectors don't work very well. If you have a higher temperature boiler, OK. The trouble with low temp water and toe kick heaters or hydro coils for ducted hot air is they have to get larger and larger to get enough heat output.
