Taco Bumble Bee Modes

Ran into a Taco BumbleBee HEC-2 on a residential system and was wondering the best mode to use. It is a cast iron boiler with 2 zones of beseboard. Piped direct from boiler to house (no primary/secondary piping). Right now it’s just set for constant speed which seems like a waste of a high tech pump if it can do more to improve the system. I’m doing a pm so I always like to make recommendations that improve things if I can.

    I would say the DT mode is a good fit for your system. You can always call into Taco Tech Support @ 401-942-8000 we are here Mon-Fri 8am-5pm EST This is the IOM if you need to make a copy.

    No it is not. 2016 Weil McLain with the self delaying control.

    I would ask the homeowner if setting were changed shortly after the system went in 4 years ago.
    The BumbleBee was shipped in the Delta T mode or 20 degrees as default.

    No changes since installed. Pump just wired into boiler control and set at speed 1. Guy retired after system installed.

    So you can easily drop it into Delta T mode as long as the sensors are there and strapped to the boiler supply and boiler return.
