Water Tank

Options
I am not sure if anyone on your site can help with this, but if not , perhaps someone could suggest a relevant site. I need a new tank for well water. Could I get an opinion on a steel Pressure Tank (bladder type) versus an Air-over-Water tank? Thanking you in advance for any help you can provide.

The bladder type is much better IMO. The other has air loss problems tending to get water logged.

I would get the largest bladder tank you can afford. The larger size puts less work on the bladder and the pump starting components. Set the precharge of the tank just at the low pump cut in pressure.

The tank can tie in your supply line at any point.
Just do not have a valve that would isolate the pressure control from the well output.

Thanks. The well water has a lot of minerals - lime, etc. Is this an issue for either type of tank?

Hi, Hardness tends to come out of solution when heat exchange is happening. You don’t have that with a well tank, so you should be good to go ;)
