Indirect tank heating

in Domestic Hot Water
Homeowner sent this to me and I think is overkill. Wanted to see what you guys thought.
Is a 80 gallon only used with left boiler with zone valve.

    If unit 1 fails he want to be able to open valves so unit 2 can heat for him until unit 1 is running again.

    You could probably accomplish that with some manual valves for less cost and complication if you put the zone valve in the right place.
