Howdy all! Can anyone direct me to post/articles that can give me a better idea of the reversing hydronic heating arrangement Dan mentions in his article Not All Pipes Are Round? I've taken a cursory browse on The Wall and didn't see any, and I'm not really sure what to search by. Thanks in advance!

I don't know of any off the shelf products, they are easy to build for commonly sourced products. I have built a handful with tekmar valves and either Honeywell or Belimo actuators. I added a flow meter to this one I built years ago to see what flow you can actually achieve in a 1000' loop of 1/2" pex :)

Here is the math and an article better explaining the concept.

I saw the job I wrote about in 1995. I remember they used a motorized four-way valve and a single-speed circulator. A timer controlled the position of the valve and the on-off operation of the circulator. Wish I could give you more details but it happened 25 years ago.

Imagine what they can do today.

A Europe thing? He talks about it in his hydronic book. Loop is on a timer and reverses flow through the loop regularly so that the loop heats evenly. Forty years of cellars and I’ve never seen it here in New England Boston area

This is the company that I visited all those years ago: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=https://www.rom-technik.de/&prev=search

I have never seen anyone else do what they did.
