Burnham heat pex from 2001

Does anyone have experience with heat pex branded Burnham? A rep from US boiler I spoke with thought it may be a re - branded Wirsbo product. I'd like to confirm the tubing is expandable before I try to repair a leaking joint......

    looks like thy offer pex C, at least now.

    I would only expand the A pex. Although some B pex manufacturers are promoting expending B. Some tests I have seen are not so conclusive about expanding B pex :)

    I heard back from Hewing in Germany; they say the tubing is not theirs. I wish someone from US Boiler would chime in on this like Energy Kinetics, Taco, and other manufacturers do. ....

    I remember those days from when I was with RTI (also an Uponor company), the Burnham pex from back then was from Hewing and Hewing was (at least back then) associated with Uponor.

    However, Hewing only made a pex-c in those days so I would not expand it.

    You should be able to use any other compression fitting.

    My thoughts exactly. Why not simply use the copper crush ring system to be safe? I use them on PEX-A,B ,and C. Dont get me wrong, I expand wirsbo/uponor and Mr.PeX too, but sometimes the crush rings (not the side cinches) work great.

    If you do a fitting requiring crimp rings, I like the stainless collars best, copper rings next. I think the pinch style cinch rings are a crappy look, sharp and often the pex turns easily after pinched.

    I think Sioux Chief offers all styles of pex fittings and rings now, expansion, copper, stainless crimp.
