Tinning

I have never considered myself a Tinner, but I know how to knock tin!

I did a job for my buddy a few years back and today he surprised me with a photo.

I wonder how his furnace stayed so shiny over the years

Very nice looking install. I've installed some tin work but don't fab any of it AND I usually end up with a few cuts on my hands just from looking at it!

We used to have to fabricate everything in the truck outside. This metal was done at my house and I brought it over to the job.

I could never wear gloves while fabricating/putting it in. They always got in the way

Nice job! I started out as a commercial tin knocker and scrimmer. I can wrap the hell out of presents.
I still have my tinners hammer from 30+ years ago.
Drive joint too wide? Get the duct stretcher.

I did some tin in my past life. They sent me to help a guy put in 14" spiral years ago we were at the shop loading up. I said "we gotta stop on the way I need to get some Band Aids. We took both trucks and he pulled into the little store at the end of the street. He got coffee, I got band aids and coffee. he said "I didn't think you were serious"

I lost every tinners hammer I ever owned... SHOCKER!

    This hammer was/is my favorite

I still use it sometimes to knock out old retort cement from a chimney breach.
Sometimes I just look at it and wonder where the time went.
