High efficiency boiler pump question

Hello!
I have a newer high efficiency boiler and cast iron radiators. There’s a new circulator pump, and the boiler has its own built in circulator pump. The boiler pump has three speed settings. The high speed makes a high pitch humming noise when the boiler runs, the medium speed is a mid range hum, and the low speed is quiet. Anyone have any input on keeping the boiler pump on low speed for quiet operation, or should I keep it on medium? The high speed setting is unbearably loud in my home. Thanks!

Hard to say. Your boiler installation should be based on a designed flow rate. Boilers are supposed to operate within a certain delta T(water temperature in and out) The td is determined by boiler input, load (output) and water flow rate. Water flow rate is where the circulator speed comes in. The boiler system is generally designed for a TD of between 20 an.d 40 degrees.

Either way, the circulator should not be making and objectional noise.

Post some pictures of your boiler and it's piping and we will try to help
