My company found a bad section about a month ago on a peerless 211a? I believe was the model. 8 section big boy. 3rd section rotted or on the bottom but we took every section apart to replace the 20 year old gaskets.

The original coal fired boiler was right next door in a pit and was gigantic.. I could crawl into the firebox quite easily. Eventually they converted it into gas.

We did some exploring and there was some cool stuff.. these gigantic valves were stamped with “1910”, you it’s think the dead men made them in1910 or is that patent?

We found a cool condensate loop in the back corner too, and I didn’t get pictures but there was a few steam vents and return lines exposed outdoors like @New England SteamWorks posted but i don’t think they put them there for sound control...

The tag on the old boiler read...
“American Radiator Company..Redflash Trademark Boiler...series 8BH number 4S120”
