fireplace spill switch

I have a 25yr old natural gas fireplace with the name Heatolator. I was told by a repairman that the spill switch was broken and no replacement could be found. Before I give up and replace the whole fireplace I wanted to ask if anyone knew where such a thing could be found, or alternatively if another make could be made to fit or could one be created?

A picture of it in place if possible. And any info from the switch would be helpful.

a model would probably be better... they are still in business last I knew... or contact them direct and see if one can be found..

Are you sure it's a spill switch and not a Rollout switch? And maybe, just maybe, it's not a bad spill/rollout switch. Maybe it did what it was supposed to do.
How is it vented? Is the flue unobstructed?
25 years is a good run. I'm sure they've added some safety features in that time.

To those who know.
Is there ONLY a spill switch to open the circuit in case of a blocked vent? No N.O. switch to prove in series before the gas valve?

Heatilator is very much still in business and parts are available. If you don't have the part number, contact the factory with your model and serial number. A unit that old should be inspected and serviced by a pro familiar with HL and has access to parts and tech support.
