ok..this old boiler was heavy as hell...first time I've seen this badge...

    Someone who used to frequent the wall would be interested in that nameplate. Haven't heard from him in awhile. Someone chime in with the name??

    I've been collecting old oil burner name plates since I started in the business. Thankfully they're harder and harder to find.

    Didn't know Thatcher made boilers....never seen one. I have seen Thatcher furnaces though

    Thatcher was in the business for decades- looks like they eventually became part of Stewart-Warner, which also acquired the Winkler burner company. The Lebanon, Indiana address was the old Winkler plant.

    Two fine old names we don't see anymore.

    My favorite burner name was "Harvey Whipple oil burner" Think they were made in Springfield, MA near me.

    Also, The "Waltham Dyna Jet" that one had two blast tubes.

    Now that I thought about it I stand corrected. Thatcher obviously did make boilers I remember a commercial one.
