Carbon Monoxide close call in NJ

Yesterday, Aug 15, neighbors noticed that the dogs next door were acting very strange. They called the homeowner, who rushed home from work to find his entire family nearly unresponsive. Neighbors and the home owner dragged the family out, but were nearly overcome themselves. The fire department got a 1200 PPM CO reading when they arrived. Four family members were airlifted to Jacoby Hospital to be treated in their hyperbaric oxygen chamber, and the others and the "rescuers" were treated overnight. No word on their condition. This was a million dollar+ home in an affluent area. Guess what...the place reportedly had no carbon monoxide detectors!!! No cause has been released. Like Pete Seeger said in his song "When will they EVER learn"?
