Difference in Grundfos ALPHA Circulators

What is the difference between the "older" ALPHA and the "newer" ALPHA2 Grundfos circulators? The brochure indicates manufacture in Fresno, CA. Is that the only difference?

    The alpha 2 is redesigned so it doesn't plug up with magnetite .
