Expansion tank and purge location

in Radiant Heating
My system was built with circulating pump on inlet side of boiler and immediatly after boiler the purge and expansion tank was installed. Also there is only 3" horizontal pipe before tank and purge. I'm constantly removing air in the system is this the reason because there is no evidence of a leak.
