HWH, before or after existing boiler?

Weil McLain boiler with domestic hot water built in but my buddy wants to add a Geospring inline because the hot water is spotty. Should it go before the boiler or after? He's saying after. The third choice is to run parallel?

    Why not get an indirect and pipe it as a zone with priority.... lots hot water and efficient.
