Boiler Feeder Issue

The float inside our Sterlco feeder's receiver stuck recently in a low water position. It had the effect of causing fresh or make-up water to run continuously into the receiver. That resulted in water coming out of the receiver's air pipe. Do these floats need periodic maintenance?

Yes,
The float ball is probably flooded (most likely a hole in it). Too heavy to float and turn off water. Going to have to disconnect water connection and remove float assembly and either replace whole, or just the float.

What type of make up feeder do you have? Float Operated Make Up or Solenoid with a Reverse Acting Float Switch?0
