in Domestic Hot Water
I have a galvanized steel pressure tank submerged in my 1000 gallon stainless steel buffer tank for indirect DHW. Will a magnesium anode rod protect the pressure tank from galvanic corrosion?
Thought of this the other day when changing the anode in a "normal" water heater.

    Hello: This arrangement sounds problematic. You've got to protect the galvanized tank on both sides and that's a lot of area. Anodes used to protect the outside of the tank will try to protect the stainless as well. You could probably use powered anodes to do this, but I'd consider a redesign, like using a large copper coil in the stainless tank for your pre-heating.
