I have an 8 year old Burnham MPO DV boiler (not a newer IQ), with an indirect water tank. Controls: Beckett NX, - Genisys Controller (with display module) and a Honeywell L7224 aquastat. 3 heating zones (valves) and one for the HW. (4 valves total).
I could go on and on about how finicky the NX is, but my question here is: Every once in a while the the Genisys stays in standby, even if the boiler temp has dropped pretty low.
It will kick on, if you bump up a thermostat, but shouldn't it maintain a specific temperature? It does seem like every once in a while it will maintains 180, which is what the L7224 is set at, but not always. If this is an issue how can I tell if it's the Genisys or the aquastat or something else?

I think I may have figured it out. There is no lower limit, just a set point and a differential. If there is no call for heat or hot water it does not fire.
Maybe I've only seen it maintain 180 in the colder months when there is a more steady call for heat or hot water.0
