EDR help on early modine convectors

Hi all,

Does anyone have any EDR info on these 1950's modine convectors? They all have covers, but sadly I didn't take any pictures with the covers on. we have eight of them in a postwar house, and need to determine connected load. they are not in Dan's EDR book that I could find.

    Just curious as to why the vent is above the valve and not at the other end. :o
    I had one in my previous house - installed in the 1930's, but the vent was on the OPPOSITE side of the valve as other steam radiators necessitate.

    I think that vent is at the end on the U shaped pipe that is surrounded by the fins.

    Use the cabinet height, width and depth. I think these might be in Dan's "E.D.R." book, but if not, use the charts for similar units and you should get pretty close.

    Thanks for your help! I used ones that were similar. The cast iron manifold on the end is interesting as it has a drain plug. I wonder if there's some type of internal water seal trap that forces the steam to go through the coil loop before finding the air vent.
