Before/After Steamer

Brian, Poppy and crew wrapped this one up today. Here are some "before" photos. When Brian went to do the start-up a few weeks ago, steam poured out of the jacket and water spilled onto the burners. Brian red-tagged it and turned the gas and electric off. The owner asked if we weld the section. Or if we could replace the leaking section. The answer was "no" on both counts.

I finally convinced the condo board this boiler was dangerous and past its retirement age. the agreed to go with a new Burnham Series 5.

    They welded the header, so they should be able to weld the sections.................... NOT!

    That welded header was part of what killed that boiler.

    That is 100 times better than what they had , really awesome job. Being downtown made that much harder as well.

    Also, do you have 3 LWCOs installed? (2 LWCO and 1 LWCO/feeder combo)?

    Looks like a 51, a 67, and a 69.

    Yes, three LWCO's. A #51 mechanical feeder, a #67 and a #63 manual reset.

    We install two LWCO's on residential boilers and three on commercial/ multi-family.

    Why? Because I have seen the results of a 2M BTU boiler that dry fired. It changes your perspective.
