Blind Riser EDR

Just wrapping up repiping a drop header on my 20 year old steam boiler and since I had the whole gosh darn thing apart anyhow, I added an additional take off complete with king valve. My idea is to run a counter-flow branch to a blind riser up to the (small) mud room. Now, I know this is a bit after the fact but I added up the total EDR and pick-up of my home's total load and there seems to be additional room for what I'd like to do but I would like to confirm it. How do I go about calculating the EDR of a blind riser? Any advice is appreciated!

Here's the EDR of a riser when used as a radiator
1-1/4" .63 EDR per linear foot
1-1/2" .73 EDR per linear foot
2" .88 EDR per linear foot
I got that from here: http://www.amazon.com/Golden-Rules-Hydronic-Heating-Before/dp/0996477225/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1444058522&sr=1-1&keywords=the+golden+rules+of+hydronic+heatingRetired and loving it.0 -
Thanks Dan, I didn't know that info was listed there. I'll grab a copy.
I think I'm clear on my EDR calculations: .73 per linear foot (1.5" blind riser) is for the exposed piping serving as the mud-room radiator. The insulated run-out to the blind riser should be absorbed into the pick-up factor. If I'm understanding this correctly than it should work well... with the extra load, the B.T.U. gross output will be darn close to the total EDR.0 -
I think you'll be fine. Thanks.Retired and loving it.0
